On the Pacific Ocean, 600 nautical miles away from the Ecuadorian continental coasts, lie the Galapagos islands, or “Columbus Archipelago”, also known as the "Enchanted Islands", the "Natural Laboratory", "Tropical Paradise", or "Noah's Ark", on behalf of their rich “ecological treasures.” The Galapagos Islands are made up of 13 main islands, 17 islets, and dozens of ancient rock formations. The volcanically formed islands, encompassing an area of 8,000 kilometers in all, lie roughly 1,000 kilometers off the coast of the Ecuadorian mainland. Apart from its beautiful beaches and unique and varied ecosystems, the Galapagos Islands are home to towering active volcanoes that reach altitudes up to 1,600 meters.

You will enjoy the ample common space consisting of rooming lounges, dining areas and large decks where you can enjoy the Galapagos scenery, spot whales or enjoy time relaxing on either a sun or shade deck. The delicious meals on board are a combination of continental and Ecuadorian cuisine. Many of these yachts offer extra services for a fee including snorkel equipment rental, kayak rental, sodas and other bar beverages for a fee.
For those wishing either to extend their stay in Galapagos before or after the cruise or only wish land-based tours from Puerto Ayora or San Cristobal; there are a large number of accommodation options to select.
We offer a choice of hotel and yacht programme combinations. Daily trips are possible to the following islands: Island Plazas and Punta Carrion - Island North Seymour & Bachas - Bartolome Island – Island Santa Fe - Cerro Dragon among others.
Yacht Rates include accommodations, all meals, island sightseeing, all guide and lecture services, transfers in the islands and between the airport and yacht in Galapagos.
Not Included: Galapagos flights, Galapagos Entrance Fee (currently $100 USD payable in cash to the national park authorities in Galapagos), tips (it is customary to tip the guide, chef and crew), soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, and any other extras not specifically mentioned.
Your 2-hour-flight from Quito or Guayaquil lands at Baltra or San Cristobal Airport in the Galapagos Islands. You are met at the Galapagos airport by the naturalist guide from your yacht or ship who will guide you on your journey through the magnificent Galapagos Islands. A short bus ride takes you from the airport to the dock in Baltra or if your boat is laying out at the small Harbor at Puerto Ayora the bus ride takes one hour through the Island Santa Cruz where your boat and crew await you.
After arriving aboard your yacht or ship you receive a warm welcome from the crew and a brief introduction to etiquette and safety aboard and while ashore on the islands, to protect these unique islands and their wildlife.
Sunshine Travel offers also a variety of opportunities for SCUBA diving in the Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos is a unique, world-class diving location and is named one of the Seven Underwater Wonders. This underwater world is still private, pristine, and relatively unexplored.. Divers share the water with penguins, sea lions, marine iguanas, sea turtles, angel fish, large schools of amberjacks and many other species of fish including hammerhead sharks.
Galapagos Flight: When we reconfirm your reservation for the boat we will make the reservation for the Quito-Galapagos-Quito (or Guayaquil) flight so you are ensured space on the plane to meet our boat. Air tickets are picked up at our office in Quito or delivered to your hotel. The Quito-Galapagos flight schedules vary depending on your yacht or ship.

There are over 100 yachts operating in the Galapagos Islands, from small, economic boats to large, luxury cruise ships. Cruise ships accommodate up to 100 passengers and offer 3, 4 and 7 night cruises in Galapagos. Smaller cruise yachts accommodate up to 48 passengers or 40 passengers. Smaller deluxe, high standard, tourist class and standard yachts accommodate small groups of 10, 12 or 16 passengers and are perfectly suited for the intimacy of a natural and human history tour of the Galapagos Islands.
SCUBA Diving: Special itinerary SCUBA diving charters are available on request for most yachts. Occasional dives are possible on standard itinerary tours. For SCUBA charters and occasional dives, divers should bring mask, fins, snorkel, wetsuit (¼ inch thick minimum), weight belt, gauges, regulators, buoyancy compensator, and underwater flashlight for night dives. Compressor, weights and tanks are included. Gear rental is possible. Divers must also bring their diving certification card and a recent medical certificate showing they are fit to dive. All dives are subject to safety considerations and approval of the Captain
